Ok so you bought a bar cart. Now what? Mine sat in my kitchen empty and sad for an undisclosed embarrassing amount of days. Dayme Walther Design to the rescue! She came over and taught me how to style a bar cart. And now my sweet tea vodka lovin’ heart is at peace.
First step, get a fun print! This can be something you wouldn’t necessarily usually hang in your home, I’ve seen lips, fun typography and of course bar themed posters and they look fab! This one was a downloadable .jpg because I wanted to print my own 24×36. If you don’t have a photo lab you use, go ahead and go to www.mpix.com, it’s where I refer all my photography clients. I love the simple white frame I have on my poster. It was so easy to put the poster in. It has snap edges, so you just plop the poster in and snap, snap, snap a roo. I decided to leave out the plexiglass piece because it looked tacky to me.
A colorful lamp, books, a bowl of fruit and some funky wine glasses look perfect on the top shelf! The Rose Lemonade was picked up from home goods and it adds some more color, but I swear if my kids ask to drink them one more time or peel at the labels, mama is going to lose it. Normally I keep fruit in the bowl, but that is an easy thing to change out seasonally. I currently have glittery halloween skulls in there and again, my kids keep moving them all around the house. NO!
You definitely need a tray on the bottom to hold the goods. This one was from homegoods, but I linked a similar one that I like better! I really don’t drink that much at home, so I had to go to the liquor store to make the cart look like an actual bar cart. If I were to drink at home, it would 100% be Deep Eddy’s sweet tea vodka with lemonade, it’s dangerously easy to drink. Brace yo self. An orchid, a candle and a little cute pineapple canister finish off the look.
Whether you are in your first apartment or building your dream home like Jeni and I, a stylish bar cart is always a good idea! Salud!
