Lips!

We’ve made it to the last step in our makeup tutorial and its all about those lips…..mmmmwahhhh.

We’ve prepped, concealed, contoured, made our eyes POP and now we work on that pucker.

First things first, if you have dry lips you may want to consider an exfoliator or lip mask to get the dead skin off and add in some moisture. This isn’t something I do everyday or even every week but when I do, it makes a difference. My lips are much softer and the color glides on easily. We like this exfoliator by elf that is only $3 (score) and this scrub. I like to do this at night after I wash my face. I scrub my lips then add in some moisture with either my favorite balm or this mask.

Next we line. Paige and I are very much chapstick or gloss girls so we had a lot to learn. I don’t think I’ve lined my lips since 1997 when we used darker liner and lighter lipstick. Oh dear. We both really love Charlotte Tilbury liner in pillowtalk, Its a nice neutral color and allows you to over-line a bit to create a fuller look. Just don’t over-line too much. No Kylie Jenners please.

Start at the cupids bow and work your way all the way to the corners of your mouth. When lining your bottom lip open mouth wide to create a taught lip and start in the middle going all the way to the corners once again.

Next up is color. We both prefer a lighter pink color. I love Pink Cloud from Bobbi Brown. Shannon taught us to use a lipstick brush to keep the color on longer. Just dab the color onto the brush and paint on starting on the middle of your bottom lip. Then press up and muh, muh, muh lips together. Got that?! It is an extra step and I definitely don’t always use the brush but I do agree that it stays put nicely. If I am wanting a bit of a darker color I use Sandwash pink.

I like to add some gloss over my lipstick to give it a little more shimmer. We like these.

Last step, highlight. Take your favorite one, this is ours. Using a small brush apply the highlighter right above your cupids bow and right under the middle of your bottom lip to create the perfect pout.

Now you’re ready!!! Kiss, kiss.
