Finding out I was having a boy was the shock of my life. Boy stuff can be so fun, especially after three girls! When my decorator, Dayme, was talking to me about nursery ideas, I knew I wanted non traditional and some black and white. This did not surprise her. I am typically the opposite of ordinary and safe in my design choices. And my life choices. While everyone else was wanting restoration hardware, gray and blue, I was wanting the opposite. This also seemed like an easy choice to transition into a “big boy” room one day. That day has come!
This is what Griffin’s nursery looked like when he was a wee wittle bub.
Recently, after he was potty trained and needed to not be stuck in a crib if he had to pee, we transitioned him to a big bed. He is loving his new and improved room! He was NOT loving giving his crib away. The sweetest girl, Christina, follows us on instagram and we were messaging and she ended up coming by to get Griffin’s crib to give to someone. He freaked. He wanted to “lay down in it” and was clinging on to it with a lunatic grip whilst in whitey tighties. So that was fun. Luckily he hasn’t mentioned another word about the crib and hasn’t been wandering around the house at 2 am like I feared.
I present to you the big boy version!
I love it all. It looks so great.
Thanks D!
