5 Minute Makeup

We are moms, so our makeup never looks like this. Except for the rare and exciting occasion where Shannon does our makeup and we transform into some glam girls that we hardly recognize. Which brings us to the five minute mom makeup face that we heard Shannon speak of the other day.

When Shannon Caldwell of Something You Beauty talks, you better listen up. She is a dear friend and a wealth of knowledge after being in the industry since the 1800s. We were very intrigued by her “5 minute mom face” and had to know all of the details. Who better to tell you, than Shannon herself?!

Shannon: The 5 minute mom face is the easiest, quickest way to look polished with little to no effort! It all starts with great skin care, so make sure you are cleansing with a mild cleanser. I am loving the CeraVe SA right now.

Also using a treatment serum and sealing it all in with a great moisturizer with SPF.

P&J side note: Our recommendation for treatment serum, moisturizer and SPF are below!

Serum: goes on before moisturizer

Moisturizer: The Neocutis is Jeni’s holy grail. Paige is loving the heck out of the Colleen mask. All of these are winners!

SPF: These two are our go-to for daily sun protection. Both are tinted just a bit which we love!

Back to you, Shannon!

When you don’t have a lot of time, you need to protect the skin and move on to the brows. Start by brushing them up and adding a little color and make sure they look polished.

It doesn’t need to be a full fleek because a.) who has time for that? and b.) why? If you have microblading, you don’t have to worry about that step unless you want to darken them up a little.

The next step is a tight line (Paige’s true love). This is putting a really great waterproof eyeliner in the water line behind the lashes on the top line.

Then, a little concealer…

Curl the lashes and add some mascara…

Maybe a little cream blush if you want to add some color to the face…

I tend to be all one color, so this is something that I do. If you don’t have a cream blush, use a lipstick. Not a long lasting, not a gloss, just a good traditional lipstick. Splat it around with your fingers.

Add a lip gloss and you are done!

And that’s your 5 minute mom face! It’s going to get you out the door and not looking like you slept in the clothes you are wearing.

Thank you Shannon!
