Nick’s NY celebration – day 2

The Ritz changed out their floral arrangement and it deserved a moment.

We crossed one street and we were in Central Park. What a perfect way to have my morning coffee.

I linked my fanny pack and an amazon dupe that comes in every color imaginable! Nicks polo is perfect for your guy…breathable and a great fit.

I found my favorite Gucci aviators 60% off! I love these and wear them all the time.

After a Central Park we made it to our next stop…food tour with Secret Food Tours of NY. This is my this time doing a food tour in NYC but my first with this company. I’ve also done Nolita and Chelsea market with Foods of NY. If you’ve never done a food tour, I highly recommend it! You get a lot of history along the way and its the perfect way to learn a little more about certain areas in the city!

Our first stop was here, Mamoun’s Falafel

In business for over 50 years, so you know it’s good. This may have been my first falafel experience but it won’t be my last. I added the hot sauce and ate every last bite. Delish!

Next up, Bagels on the Square

We learned what makes a NY bagel so much better than the rest! Its the water…apparently the water around the city is the perfect mineral content to make the bagels crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Im going to need someone in Texas to figure out how to recreate this bc I’m still dreaming about this bagel. We got the everything bagel with scallion smear and omg it was goooood. Once again, I ate every last bite.

Next up, more carbs at Molly’s Cupcakes. This place was so cute! Everything around us looked like an elementary school classroom. From the school bus color of the building, to the swings and desks inside, the owner named his bakery after his third grade teacher who would bake cupcakes anytime her student had a birthday. Adorable!

Taco, Indian fusion had me intrigued but I was starting to get really full….

Well that didn’t matter because I ate every bite of this taco and I still can’t stop thinking about it. It was a literal party in my mouth with so many unique flavors that came together and just worked. SO, SO, SO good and my favorite thing on the tour. You must check out Taco Mahal if you’re in the neighborhood. It is run by a father, daughter duo and it will not disappoint.

Directly across the street is a five guys, cool no big deal…except when the neon light is on above it. There is a secret speakeasy that is located thru the kitchen and up the stairs. If anyone goes please send me a pic!

When we go back to the city and have more time, this place is on my list. Maries Crisis Cafe was explained as a bit of a dive bar. This all cash piano bar seems like a real good time. Many Broadway stars frequent this spot after shows.

Last stop was pizza from Two Boots. I really wanted Nick’s first NY pizza experience to be more authentic this place was good but not great. I forgot to get a pic. oops.

Here is our tour guide, David. He was so wonderful, super knowledgeable and made the entire experience so fun.

After that we needed to walk off some calories….my favorite way to do that and something you HAVE to do while in NY…shop!

Hello lover.

Isn’t she lovely?!

Had to stop by FAO for Hayes! Came out with a koala stuffy and a boomerang…he was a happy guy!

Time to shower and change for Broadway. Add in a glass of wine with a view…NY you’re a really special place.

Broadway look linked below:

Bar Centrale was the perfect spot for drinks and apps before the theater. It’s walking distance – reservations are strongly recommended.

Not pictured: the chickpea fries (these were our favorite)

I thought the show started at 7 but nope, it was at 8…so we walked into Time Square where I volunteered Nick for a street show and he wanted to murder me. I may have peed my pants a little from laughing so hard.

Hamilton!

Listen, I’ve been to many a broadway show and I appreciate them all but by the time intermission comes around I’m pretty done.

Well not this one.

Hamilton completely exceeded my expectations. I was totally engrossed the entire time.

I got us really nice seats right in front of the balcony. I wasn’t thinking we would be as squished as we were though. My 6’4 husband had quite the time trying to get comfortable and I felt like I was sitting next to a very squirmy Hayes.

That standing ovation! Ugh, incredible! I had tears streaming down my face at this moment. Bravo!

I envisioned us going to a roof top bar after but we are old and boring. We got turned around trying to leave Broadway and ended up on 7th street. Our doorman told us to stay away from 7th and now I know why. It was pretty sketch…my mom is very unhappy reading this right now.

The only thing I realllllly wanted Nick to see what the 911 memorial. I know he would’ve loved it and spent hours there but we just ran out of time. Next trip, for sure!

It was a FULL two days celebrating my man. I hope you felt loved and celebrated Nicholas. You are my everything!
