What’s on our Bucket list?

People always talk about adding to their bucket list, but do they actually have a well thought out, written list? We had an ongoing jumbled up list in our heads, but getting it down on paper (or notes on our phones) makes it much more real and more likely that we will get to checking off some of these things asap.

Paige’s Bucket List

In case you were unsure, bucket list comes from the term “kick the bucket” and is the list you want to have completed before you die. I can’t imagine I would ever stop adding to the list and doubtful I could get it all done in this lifetime, but that’s part of the challenge and the fun. Overachiever problems.

I broke mine down into three categories: US Travel, International Travel and Stuff to do, because “stuff to do” is eloquent AF.

US Travel

  • Grand Canyon-how have I never seen this? I don’t know.
  • New Orleans-again, how have I not been here?
  • Washington DC-I feel the need to see the ‘merica things and would love to go during the cherry blossom festival.
  • Zion National Park. The Narrows hike is the most appealing to me. You hike through the river in the canyon. Most of it isn’t too deep, but would be fun in the summer.
  • Rent a bitchin’ car and drive Pacific Coast Hwy
  • Chicago
  • Boston
  • Nashville
  • Charleston, probably a girl’s trip
  • Hawaii, I would love to see this black beach
  • Mount Rushmore, I mean meh, but I feel the need to see it in person
  • Maine
  • Alaskan Cruise, my parents did this years ago and loved it
  • Napa, I’ve been to Sonoma, but am really wanting to go to Napa
  • Savannah, could be an easy weekend trip
  • Yellowstone, tons to see there
  • Antelope Canyon, in Arizona and looks like it’s another planet
  • Jackson Hole, beautiful
  • Marfa, more to do and see here than just take a pic in front of the dang Prada Marfa art installation
  • Lake Tahoe, my brother lived her for a while and I still haven’t been. What is wrong with me?!
  • Havasu Falls, insanely gorgeous, difficult to get to, but looks worth it.
  • Dude Ranch, so fun with kids.
  • Route 66 Road Trip, I just want to stop at every goofy iconic place and experience it all.
  • Winvian Farm, such a cool place in Connecticut. You can stay in a treehouse!

International Travel

  • Maldives, middle of nowhere, luxurious private island vibes.
  • Bali, this picture is of Nusa Lembongan and it’s gorge.
  • Ibiza, yoga retreats, drinking, beautiful bays, in.
  • Amalfi Coast, popular spot, but people rave about it and I want to see what it’s all about.
  • Tuscany
  • Puglia
  • Lake Como
  • Venice
  • Tanzania Safari
  • Atacama Desert, Chile, stargazing, dunes, flamingos
  • Finland glass igloo to see Northern Lights
  • St. Lucia, beach and mountains and a hotel room that’s open to the outside
  • Taj Mahal
  • Himalayas
  • Morocco, Sahara dunes
  • Madagascar
  • London
  • Santorini
  • Mykonos
  • Costa Rica
  • Ireland
  • Dead Sea
  • Anguilla
  • Moscow
  • Trans Siberian Railway
  • Great Wall

Jeni’s Bucket List:

I mean Paige added just about every dang location one could think of, bring me along mmkay?

I LOVE to check off a list. Oh so satisfying. I’m starting with a handful of things that I REALLY want to do in the near future with a plan to always add on in the years to come.

Top US destinations:

  • Alaska
  • Grand Canyon
  • New Mexico during the hot air balloon festival
  • Lake Tahoe
  • Miraval Resort in Arizona. I’d love to do this with our besties.

International:

  • Italy
  • Greece
  • Israel
  • Bora Bora or Fiji or somewhere Nick and I can stay in a hut on the water.

Random Stuff:

  • Plan a trip with each of my kids alone to a city/place they want to explore (maybe this is a 13th birthday idea)
  • Zip lining (I’ve never been, I’m afraid of heights but I still want to do it)
  • Ride horses on a beach somewhere with Nick.
  • Take a trip with just me and my mom.
  • Take a trip with just me and my dad.
  • Go skiing as a family
  • Glamping somewhere cool.

What is at the top of your bucket list? We’d love to hear!
