Sweet Summertime!!! Our family is totally enjoying the slower pace. Staying up later, sleeping in a bit and lazy days spent at the pool make me HAPPY.
We hit the pool at least twice a week in the summer and I like to be prepared. With three kids in tow A LOT goes into this bag but over the years I’ve found some definite must haves for the season.
- girls puddle jumper: puddle jumpers are the best. Back in the day all I had was the plastic blow up ones you’d put on your arms. Anyone else remember how you’d have to wet your arm to make them slide up? This is a much better option.
- boys puddle jumper: The boys need a cute dino version.
- black and white towels: I like the simplicity of these. Comes in a 2 pack and the reviews are great. It would be cute with a monogram.
- tote bag: These are my FAVORITE pool/beach/sports/whatever bags. I have this rose gold one now but they have so many colors and options. I like that I can throw it in the wash and it has side pockets to keep things organized. I suggest getting the large or extra large and adding the zipper option.
- colorful towels: We go through the towels in the summer. I love the bright colors of these.
- straw hat: I love this and you cannot beat the price. It comes in many other color options as well.
- pink hat: Trucker hats are also an easy way to keep the sun off of your face while still looking cute. Heeeeyyyyyy.
- flamingo float: I now need another baby girl.
- sunscreen: I love the idea of a spray sunscreen but I feel like I’m always missing spots on my kids. This lotion allows me to see where I have applied so I don’t miss any areas.
- flip flops: The best. I buy these every year. True to size.
- infant hat: Keep the sun off that little cutie.
- toy boats: Toys are a must and I feel like kids of all ages enjoy these.
- goggles: I am so happy I found these. They are SO easy to tighten/loosen and they don’t get stuck in your kids hair. I found more boyish ones here and these pink flamingo ones are seriously cute.
- hooded towels: There are so many options from pirate to mermaid. Perfect for the kids to wear home from the pool.
- waterproof bag: Throw swimsuits or anything else that’s wet into this bag.
- paperwhite kindle: I am not quite to the point where I can just sit back and read while my kids are swimming but one day I will be and it will be GLORIOUS. I love my kindle, I’ve taken it on beach vacations and you can see perfectly even in the bright sun.
- sunscreen for kids faces: This stays on.
- wet brush: Great for the chlorine tangles.
- stainless steel cup: Keep that drink cold!
- wave runner balls: These bounce or skip along water. Fun!
- chapstick with spf: I love the different colors and this is a great thing to have in your bag.
- hair ties: I’m slowing becoming a big believer in these hair coils. I’m not sure the are totally crease proof but I do like them regardless.
- water guns: Light weight and every kid loves these.
- waterproof football: Another pool must have. My 11 year old could play football in the water for hours!
