We thought you’d never ask | Volume 11

When did you start botox? What area did you start in?

PW: Like most things in life, I dove in before most of my friends. I was in my late 20s, probably 27 or 28 and I started with my forehead and in between my eyes. Those in between the eye muscles on me want to make me look like I’m in a permanent bad angry mood, so I was most excited about those as a newbie.

JM: I think I was around 30. I only did forehead for a few years then added the 11’s. Now I also do crows feet and I bruise there every time.

What is one thing you wish you could do over?

PW: Knowing what I know now and seeing how my incredibly beautiful journey of a life has played out, changing anything would have changed everything. So let’s just play with this scenario even though I’m exactly where I need and want to be. Looking back over my 39 years, I absolutely should have taken time to grow up and emerge into adulthood after college. Taking the time to understand who I am, live on my own and not be as concerned with getting married and starting a family so early could have been great for me.

JM: Freshman year of college. Freshman 15, that sucked. Rosas tortillas should not be ordered by the dozen at 1am after drinking beer all night. Can I just do it over to have that much fun again while making healthier choices?

But seriously, I agree with PW….my struggles and set backs have made me who I am today and I like her.

PW again: Jeni, I remember we were in study hall and you lifted up your Kappa Delta Athletics t-shirt, grabbed one of your rolls, looked at me in distress and said, “I need to do something about this, I have never had this!!!!” Your answer at the moment was going to be Advocare. Gosh I love college.

Summer plans?

PW: Enjoying my kids and my pool! Waking up later and lax bedtimes for the kids is so fun for us in the summer. I can not wait to take my kids to the beach and can not wait to go without kids to the beach for Jeni’s 40th. I’m wanting to get an architect out to my house and draw up some plans for a master suite and laundry room addition. Lots of dates and girl’s nights and maybe even a house warming party. Summer is my favorite!!!

JM: Lots of time at home/out by the pool with our family! An exciting 40th birthday trip with our friends that is still very much up in the air with all of the different COVID travel restrictions and a special trip to Disney with just me, Nick and Hayes. We also have a family reunion every Fourth of July in Oklahoma and its Jackson’s favorite part of summer.

What stretches help with shin splints?

PW: All I really know are hip, shoulder, neck and lower back stretches since these are my problem areas. Jeni??

JM: I’ve never been a runner so I’ve never had shin splits. But I will google this for you bc now I’m invested.

Thoughts on derma planing?

PW: I have had it done professionally before and it was so nice! I have since just done a half ass version at home, but it still works so well. I love the exfoliating it does and who wants hairs glimmering in the sunlight on their face? I use these razors and try to do this every few weeks, before a spray tan preferably.

JM: Just had this done at KATYDIDIT. Went in for an IPL but I had been in the sun and she said no. Thankful for estheticians who will do the right thing! She did derma plane instead and my skin is so soft and my makeup goes on so nicely. It definitely a step above the at home ones, I recommend!

Will Miggle join the group vacation trips in the future?

PW: Yes! Due to COVID and a decline in hang outs, he has only been around the group twice. All of the husbands are very welcoming and I anticipate lots of majorly fun group trips in the future. Miggle is a great time and makes friends everywhere he goes so I imagine he will fit in nicely.

JM: He will be joining on the 40th birthday trip so this will be a nice trial run to see how he mixes with the Texas boys. He will add some nice Cali flair.

PW again: We just need to stress to our friend dudes that he is way more liberal, way less religious, extremely creative with a wardrobe far different than theirs. He has friends from all walks of life that he has gathered kindergarten to Texas, from celebrities to homeless homies. He uses phrases we don’t typically use. For example, “Paige, you look mad cute tonight!” “I’m lookin’ yoked dude!” “You fools are dope!” So yes, Cali flair indeed.

Give us the details on the ablation! How was the recovery?

JM: The ablation was a very simple surgery and I am hopeful that I will have great results. I suffer from extremely long and heavy periods and this should cut it down to NO PERIODS (which I cannot even imagine) or possibly very light periods. I was totally fine the day after surgery and just had cramps for a few days post-op. Now it’s a game of wait and see what the results will be.

Will Paige ever share her dating horror stories?

I just did over on the dating app blog post. Go take a peek!

What is the group dynamic now that Paige is divorced? Wasn’t her ex in the group?

PW: I’m sure it’s strange and will take some getting used to seeing me with another guy after all of these years. These girls are my ride or die best friends, the husbands all get along great, but the core group will always be my homegirls. Ovaries before brovaries.

JM: It took me a minute just like I’m sure it did for Paige after my divorce. Paige and I have grown up together and been by each others sides through so many ups and downs…I just want happiness for her always.

PW again: Jeni and her ex were me and Zach’s favorite double date and travel duo. So as much as I wanted happiness for her and supported and protected her fiercely, I was also like damn, we had so much fun with them. A slight mourning and adjustment period is just part of the process for everyone. Jeni, ILYSM and you have been such a rock for me in this bizarre chapter that I never thought would happen to me.

We want all the pics and deets from Jeni’s Byron party!

It was so much fun a deserves an entire post as soon as I can get to it. We hosted it with my brother and sister in law. Band, DJ, Food truck, drinks…..we had no fun at all. Gro helped us with all the details, we love them so much!

Here are a few pics…blog coming soon.

Do you have Botox recommendations in McKinney?

Not really. If you live in McKinney and have someone you love, drop their name in the comments.

Are you still taking CBD?

PW: I am not. I’m just sticking with what I know works and works well…Zo to the loft.

JM: same girl, saaaaaame.

Where was Jeni’s dress from the golf party from?

Any upcoming trips?

YESSSSSS…..Jeni’s 40th! Paige and I also really want to see the Grand Canyon and we are trying to make that happen soon.

Yes! I want to go somewhere with just Jeni and I once a year! If yes, I will push us out of our comfort zones and we will ride mules and hike and do other things that make my tummy flip.

What is the most fun thing about marrying into a Greek family?

So many fun things!!! They are always up for a good time. They love BIG. You always know exactly what’s on their mind. The food!! They know how to entertain. They raise some really great humans. I just love my Greek family so very much.

Paige, why are you not wanting to remarry?

Fear of the unknown and the trauma of a divorce. I’m scared it won’t work out, I’m scared I can’t promise someone forever like I want to. I’m scared I would get into a situation where I feel caged and resentment and I don’t want to hurt anyone. Getting a divorce is the lowest of low low lows on so many levels and it’s not something I would want to ever experience again. That being said, I would totally wear a ring, have a private love ceremony with no legally binding documents and commit to loving with all I have for as long as it works for us both.

How did you lose the baby weight?

PW: Those last 10 pounds were always so painfully slow to get rid of. The only thing I found that works for me and works pretty dang fast is intermittent fasting. Not exercise, not any specific type of diet, just watching the clock and learning about IF. I wrote a blog post on how I do it here.

JM: I honestly don’t really remember. I think the toddler phase did it because you never get to just sit down.

How do you handle technology with your kids?

JM: We set some strict parental controls on devices. During the school year they have time limits that are a little more lax on the weekends. It’s a struggle but it’s part of the world we live in. I’m sure we could always do better in this area but we really try to stay on top of it.

PW: I handle it poorly I’m sure. I have screen time limits set on the family account. I check their devices every now and then. I’ve talked about safety, the internet is forever, commenting on a tiktok is even forever, don’t post something you would be embarrassed for your grandma to read, etc. I want them to be able to make their own mistakes and learn rather than be afraid of me and hide. For example, one of my kids got locked out of Roblox for running animal trading scams. Lol, but also like what the heck, you know that isn’t right!!! She was asking for my help to sign back in when we realized she was unable to sign in for a number of days based on scam complaints. I asked her what happened and she was crying and so remorseful telling me the story. The shame and regret she felt was way more powerful of a lesson than me forbidding Roblox and her sneaking it.

How was Monarch? Worth the hype?

JM: Worth it. It is expensive so I think we would only go back for a special occasion but I really enjoyed the food, drinks and the view!
