Reality Report

Requested above all else, is a look into our personal lives. This reality report series will give you just that! An authentic update on the latest in the lives of Jeni and Paige, no matter how lame or luxurious.

Reunited for the first time in a dang minute at DryBar Fort Worth in WestBend. We know you want to know where our masks are from so go ahead and click here and you won’t be disappointed.

Jeni:

We started off the weekend with some cookie cakes to celebrate the first (very short) week of school. My kids started school in person on Thursday. We are very thankful for their school and all of the safety procedures they have put in place. I have to laugh as they rip their masks off as soon as they get in the car, totally reminds me of how it feels to take your bra off after a long day. Ha. What a crazy life we are living right now.

Friday evening Nick took Jackson and two of his friends out to the deer lease for some fishing and guy time. This little one thought he was invited and lost his ever loving mind when he realized he wasn’t. The ONLY thing that helped was me taking him to get a pole and Daddy promising to take him fishing as soon as he got back.

We stopped by Chili’s for a quick bite because I’m so fancy. But really, they have a pretty dang good margarita. Hayes wanted to play the quiet game and I happily sipped my Presidente and obliged.

Seeing these pics made me happy. COVID has been tough on everyone. Middle school is tough in general. These kids NEED time with their friends.

Sister also had one of her besties over for some fun. They swam and rollerbladed and giggled and giggled and giggled some more. I loved every minute of it.

I actually got myself dressed. We took a new hire out to dinner and I pulled out my new anniversary sale goodies. This top and these jeans are on sale now.

As promised this kid went fishing and caught his first fish. That smile kills me, he is so proud.

Sunday, we had Nicks mom and Dan over for dinner. We haven’t seen them in months bc of COVID so it was nice to catch up and let the cousins play.

The really exciting part of the day was when Nick picked up our paintings from Jenny Grumbles. I am beyond obsessed and cannot wait to share more with you guys. She is so talented.

We are back to the grind today but I am not complaining one bit. Its so nice to feel like we are getting back into a routine and things are feeling a little more normal. Hayes had juijuitsu today at Rock Star and he is loving it.

I am so impressed with the program. They teach focus & respect and really work on building their confidence. He idolizes his coach and any time he is being naughty we tell him we are going to call him and he stops immediately. Hopefully that trick works for awhile!

Paige:

Taking it on back to early august…

I headed out to California to celebrate one of my favorite people’s birthdays.

I have been flying a lot lately and the major differences are that you must wear a face mask or risk being on the terrorist no fly list for life and publicly shamed. Also, they hand out little snack bags with a tiny water and pretzels or cookies instead of the usual drink service. Other than that, business as usual.

Rockin my favorite mask. Get yours here!

We stayed at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego for a night and it was gorgeous! They had lots of COVID safety measures in place and there was hardly anyone there which was so nice.

Here is the view from the room, poolside drinking is one of my favorite hobbies, yes it’s a hobby.

Below you can see me, again me and me holding a plum! WOW!

This is one of my CA homies spreading good vibes wherever he goes, more on him later. But for now, please accept this potentially disappointing censored collage and know that I’m in a great place. 10 out of 10 recommend genuine happiness, I concur.

We cruised on past the naked gun movie power plant boobs, so there’s that.

I spend lots of time browsing the world wide web for a new house and fun bachelorette pad decor for when that glorious day arrives. There are many a screenshot on my phone of colorful happy items. You better believe I’m going to Paige Walker the eff out of my next casa, and obviously bring y’all along for the fun. Duh, what are internet friends for?!

The powder Tide and hot water wall washing method from @gocleanco on instagram was put to use for the first time this weekend. Jeni has been raving about that account and I took a couple of hours before the last house showing and went to town on the dirty grimy walls. It worked really well! So far, no offer though, so bleh, meh and eh. I believe in signs and synchronicity and this cool bird was sitting on the for sale sign the day of the showing. It flew off right when I snapped the pic, but it gave me hope that the right family will come along soon.

This little guy is never much further than a few feet away as I work many hours in my office which also happens to be his playroom. It’s really productive with very little interruptions and hardly any requests for snacks. Extreme sarcasm. He loves these stepping stones and they make all the days at home much more active and exciting for him.

I have been up at the studio photographing a lot more sessions than my previous pandemic normal. Covid brought my business down for a little while, (hi overdraft notification emails, haven’t seen you in a while!) but it won’t keep me down. We seem to have bounced back quite nicely and I am currently slammed.

If you could please pay your invoices in a timely manner so I may survive that would be greeeeaaaaaat.

Thanks,

Management

Give me all the babies. I’ve been photographing newborns, kids and families (Paige Walker Photography) for 10 years and lately the newborns have been a steady stream. I was made for this dream career and I sometimes want to pinch myself for what it has become.

I bought a couple of new things for my house. The front living room really needed a rug and I found such a pretty one at a great price. My hamper fell apart and this replacement is bomb! I roll it between my room and the laundry room and it’s cute, so win/win. Oh and bonus, it says “LAUNDRY” so you won’t be confused and put all your canned goods in there. Phew!

If you know me, you know I am a documentary fanatic. I could go without movies or anything scripted for that matter, but I love the real stuff. These were added to an approved list of docs that I recommend. The entire list can be found on the “P’S DOC RECS” highlight here.

Vanessa Gomez at Katours does my hair. She has become a really close friend and my hair takes what feels like 22 hours. She is so good with blondes and extensions and dealing with me and my mobile office. She just gets out the power strip and says nothing about my computer, cords everywhere, mouse and bag of XQD cards.

I will leave you with this: Waffles and Pierre as Disney characters. Use the snapchat cartoon filter on your pet and tag us in it if you post on instagram stories. I want to see!!

No wait!

I’ll leave you with this…

It’s the best stretch I have found for my very tight and problematic hips and lower back.

I’m off to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before all my sizes are gone and I’m regretting taking so long. Jeni found the most amazing things at the best prices and I’m hoping to do the same! See some of our favorites here.

Hope you are all staying safe! Have a great week and give that twisted reclined pigeon stretch a whirl!
