Broken Bow Get Away

I think we’re all in need of a little get away right now, right?!?! Well you’re in luck because we have the perfect little spot! A few weeks ago we spent a long weekend in Broken Bow, Oklahoma and it did not disappoint.

The kids loved exploring and being outside. The parents loved the kids being entertained while enjoying nature day drinking. Win, win.

We stayed at the Lazy Spur cabin. It had plenty of room for our families. 4 full bedrooms, a loft, game room, hot tub and fire pit….what else could we possibly need?! Oh that’s right, a nanny ;). Our sweet Kara came along to help with our crazy crew!

After checking in to the cabin we decided to do some exploring and found a place that rents kayaks and bumper boats.

The kids LOVED this…we actually went back a second time before heading home it was that big of a hit!

Word to the wise….don’t pick a bumper boat. Its one heck of a workout.

P tried some paddle boarding and there was also a mini golf area and sandbox that the littles enjoyed.

We worked up an appetite and headed to Grateful Head Pizza – this is another must. Seriously good pizza and a cool atmosphere.

Most of our time was spent doing nothing but hanging outside. And it was glorious.

We did venture out some. Go carts at BigFoot Speedway.

Hochatown Petting Zoo: So many different types of animals. The kids and adults really enjoyed this one.

Mining for treasures at Beavers Bend Mining Co.

Nick and I took the bigger kids on a horseback trail about 45 minutes north of Broken Bow at A to Z Guest Ranch. It was a 2 hour horseback-ride and we went up some pretty steep hills and through a lot of creeks. The kids raved about it and totally want to do it again. I got the wild horse and lost my sunglasses when he got spooked and ran through the woods so there’s that. It was an adventure for sure and the scenery was beautiful.

Thanks for the memories Broken Bow, we will definitely be back!
