Banff Days 3 +4

Hello massive delay. If you even remember that we travelled to Banff back in September, then this may be of interest to you. If you do not, you should probably take a look at our first two blog posts outlining our epic Canadian journey.

The spa at the Fairmount was under construction, so we didn’t get the full experience. It was kind of pieced together, but a massage is a massage and we weren’t going to pass that up. I got a dude masseuse and normally I cringe when a guy comes in and calls my name to go with him. I have gotten so used to my normal guy, that it no longer creeps me out. He was amazing and he taught me some interesting exercises with a lacrosse ball. In Texas Lacrosse balls aren’t just chillin around the house, but I appreciate the lesson.

We had some champs and got in many a hot tub and talked about all sorts of interesting personal stuff. Girls trips are the best!

When Jeni and I are on vacation, we are looking for a ton of experiences balanced out with some laziness.

Horse riding gives me a heeby jeeby. Yes just one. But I put on my spurs and went for it anyway. No I didn’t, I don’t have spurs, it would be a whole lot cooler if I did.

This turned out to be one of our all time favorite experiences! I may still be traumatized from the time I was thrown off of a horse when I was 20, but these guys were slow and steady. We booked a one hour trail ride through our hotel and it was around $90…totally worth it.

These très amigas decided on some day drinking and luxury ear muff purchasing, because why the heck not? Not sure why the other girls decided not to join…we weren’t an embarrassment or anything! I need to book another cold weather vaca just to get my money’s worth out of this ridiculous purchase.

The 5 koalas then went to a fancy dinner at the top of the mountain in zero visibility. I’m sure the view would have been insane, we will never know.

We made our way to the top of the mountain to The Sky Bistro. This restaurant came highly recommended and definitely didn’t disappoint. Make a reservation and it’s supposed to be insanely gorgeous at sunset. Our waitress was super knowledgable and was some type of wine connoisseur so we took all of her suggestions on food and pairings and loved every bit of it.

I rented most of my coats from Rent the Runway and I am so glad I did. Definitely saved this Texas girl some money.

Girl time is so good for the soul. Invest in your friendships, these ladies mean so much to me. We missed Principal Al SO MUCH.

Day 4

The Fairmont looks like it’s from a fairytale. And these Elsa wannabes were ready to do a bunch of random stuff in the downtown area.

After 1.5 minutes of sight seeing, we opted for day drinks, going to a cave that I would never recommend to anyone ever and a snowball fight.

We loved this lunch spot. Perfect location right in the middle of lots of fun shops.

They had so many tasty drinks that we most definitely tasted. Not sure if its a Canadian thing or just this place but they had chili oil with honey to dip your pizza crust in and OH MY!!!! Pizza may never be the same again.

Canadian people are bomb. @greenjacket_james took us to the cave. How did we get back from the cave? It’s a sensitive subject. You will have to watch the videos to find out.

Cave. It was too dark to get a picture in there but trust when I say the purple cave sign is the most exciting part. Moving on.

Dinner was at Maple Leaf. Another restaurant that came highly recommended. None of us remember it though. Could be because it was months ago and mom brain is legit. The more likely reason…WAY too much Canadian fun.

Some type of delicious cheese type mixture. Or was it delicious? We may never know. The only pic we have of this meal and we were all perplexed that we have NO MEMORY of it.

Before we caught our flight home we snuck out and took a few pics for the blog.

Influencers in their natural habitat. I spy the camera remote.

Back home to the great state of Texas we go. Where day drinking is rare, toddler tantrums are on the regular and responsibilities are never ending.
