New York Recap

I just got home from a few days away with some dear friends to NYC.  To say we had a blast is an understatement.  It was a perfect trip.  We ate a lot, shopped a little, strolled the city, toured the 9/11 museum  and just had the best time together.  I came home relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to see my little family.  Girlfriend time is so good for the soul.

This is my third time to the city and I have to say there is something so magical about the fall.  The colors of the leaves were mesmerizing to this Texas girl and the weather hovered around 50 degrees which was comfortable. One of my favorite parts of this trip was Central Park.

We navigated the subway with ease, thanks to Erika and had some of the most amazing food.  See that picture on the top right…its a breakfast pot pie from Smiths.  Oh em gee!!!  Andrea and I split the waffle and hot chocolate as a snack before dinner, we figured we could use some fruit. It had chocolate on the bottom and melted in your mouth.  Man, I love this city.

rain jacket / borrowed scarf from Sheaffer but now I need it because it goes great with my new shoes

A highlight was definitely the food tour!  This is my second time using Foods of NY Tours and on both trips it was one of our favorite parts!  You eat A LOT but you also get some history along the way.  Both tour guides have been hilarious and made it so enjoyable.  Here we are with our guide, Cindy.  This time we toured Chelsea Market.  The last trip with Paige we did Nolita.  I highly recommend both.

Broadway is also a must.  We saw Mean Girls and it was so entertaining.  The last trip we saw Chicago and Paige fell asleep so there ya go.

Borrowing a caption from Karla because I think it sums us up perfectly…We travel so well together but do life together even better.  We have been intentional in our relationship for almost 13 years; these kinds of friendships don’t happen overnight. We have shared many laughs and have put pieces back together in times of heartache.  Find your people.  Cherish them.  Make memories.

We laughed, we cried, we also may have had to flip a coin in the picture above because we have STRONG opinions when it comes to Christmas ornaments.

If you’re planning a trip soon listen to me when I say to use Mix and Match Travel Agency.  There was no detail left undone.  We laughed about how this must be how it feels to be a husband on a trip, you just show up!  Thank you Shay for all of the planning that went into making this a trip I will never forget.
