The Beginner’s Guide to Bodysuits

bodysuit with adjustable straps | my favorite vegan leather skirt of all time

I didn’t dare buy a bodysuit until about 2 years ago. Then it hung sadly in my closet never being worn. I thought, “where would I even wear this?!” I mean, it has built in underwear basically, and crotch snaps. I just couldn’t get on board. I was invited to a girl’s dinner with some of my neighbor friends and couldn’t figure out what to wear. I decided to give that little bodysuit a go. Then it happened. I became a bodysuit fan.

Here is what I love about them: they stay tucked in, obviously. You can live without the fear of your butt crack sneaking out if your jeans move down. They are my favorite thing to wear with skirts now, but I also love them with jeans and shorts and just by themselves. Not serious on that last part, and if you have tried one on or own one, you know how peculiar they look alone! It’s such a clean look and so nice knowing it’s not going anywhere.

If you are considering trying one, I suggest a black, white or other neutral tone. There are plenty of wild ones out there, but this is a staple you will want to wear again and again. You can change the look of them so easily with different pants and skirts or adding a jacket over it. Also if you aren’t feeling the super tight look, there are lots of options that are loose and blousy on the top and still snap at the bottom and stay put. Give it a shot ladies!
