Dry Shampoo Review

Washing my hair once a week is all I can muster up the strength to do. It is a time commitment, chore and basically an all out event. I put 8 dry shampoos up against each other in the most dramatic battle in Style Duplicated history. Who will take home the final rose? Who will be left crying with a cracked lid in the limo? Does the perfect powdery spray exist?

Klorane: The first thing I noticed about this one, is that it comes out in an extraordinarily powerful blast. The directions say to spray 10 inches from your hair, wait 2 minutes and then brush. It adds volume without any white residue and has a very subtle smell. I love this one and think it would be perfect for anyone with dark hair since the chalky look is non existent. This made my hair look so fresh and actually clean, not just dry shampoo clean.

psssst: This one is ok. It’s cheap, absorbs some oil and kind of smells like juicy fruit gum. Doesn’t do much for volume and it’s very light. Some say it leaves a reside that can be hard to wash out.

Batiste: I tried the one with a hint of color, brilliant blonde. Who doesn’t love to lighten up your roots a bit between color appointments?! This one adds a little blonde color with a fabulous smell! Batiste blonde is at the top of my list, would definitely buy again and I used it all up first.

Not Your Mother’s: I am such a beach girl and the smell of this one is coconut beachy, but not overwhelming at all. It isn’t a super powerful dry shampoo, so it is good to use on the 2nd or 3rd day. It adds texture and is a nice refresher!

Rockaholic: This has a citrus-y smell and gives decent body. I feel like it dries out my hair more than most. That may mean that this one is great for extra oily hair. I’m not a huge fan, I won’t buy this one again.

Bumble and Bumble: Kind of smells like essential oils and great granny’s perfume. I can not. Also added minimal body.

Argan Oil: Smell is light and nice. Great quick refresh. I like!

Pureology: The smell is pretty light. It didn’t leave any residue, made my hair less oily but still kept the same general texture. My hair looks good and it doesn’t feel like I have any product in it which I like.

Klorane, Batiste, Not Your Mother’s and Pureology will be heading to hometown dates. All are amazeballs, all have something to offer, I recommend all of these!

It came down to Klorane and Batiste Blonde…

Batiste, I love you! I thought it would be us…..BUT…it’s not you, it’s me. If we would have met under any other circumstances, you would have been the one. You are going to make a wonderful top choice for some other greasy roots.

KLORANE (which I literally had not even heard of this brand until this little experiment) you are everything I didn’t know I needed. You complete me. Will you make me #hairgoals and accept this final rose?!
