Remember back in the day when teeny tiny, super thin eyebrows were all the rage? Well in case you are too young to remember we’ve got some evidence…
Me and Paige circa 2000 with our tadpole shaped brows & artificial tans. SO HAWT.
Thankfully that trend is no longer and our brows grew back.
Recently we both went to Jessica at The Browtini Bar in Fort Worth. She is a brow guru and we are loving our results. If you are local, we highly suggest you go see her.
We opted for the brow sculpt. Jessica measured our brows (more on that below), waxed where needed, tinted and then tweezed. I was nervous I would look like Groucho Marx…especially when I snapped this pic during the tinting process
I loved the wax that Jessica used. It had no fragrance and no artificial color. It was also a low temperature wax. Irritation can occur when wax is too hot. I stopped waxing years ago because I would always break out after, with this wax I didn’t break out and wasn’t irritated at all. Win!
The tint lasts on the skin for about 3 days and on the hair for 4-6 weeks. I couldn’t believe how much brow I actually have…they are just blonde in some areas. This has also helped me when filling in my brows because it gives me a clear outline of where I need to add makeup.
Here is my before and after….don’t look at the lashes that need a fill in a really bad way.
Paige’s before and after:
I am so happy with our results. If you’re trying to up your brow game at home shape is key! The graphic below explains brow mapping which I think is the most important step in correcting brows.
First, hold tweezers vertically from the outer part of your nose up to your eyebrow. The place where the tweezer hits is where the innermost part of your brow should begin.
Second, hold tweezers from the outer part of nostril through the middle of your iris, this is where your arch should be.
Third, hold the tweezers diagonally from the outermost part of nostril to the outermost part of your eye. This is where your brow should end.
The stencils below were a MUST HAVE while I was learning how to fill in my brows and correct their shape.
Below are a few of my favorite products for beautiful brows:
Eyebrow Serum: This stuff has great reviews. If you have over plucked or waxed this will help promote hair growth.
Brow Pencil: This one is my favorite. I love the brush on the end to smooth out the product.
Brow Gel: I just started using this and now I’m wondering how I went so long without. It keeps your brows in place and adds a touch of color.
Brow Stencils: I used these for years. If you are in the process of trying to grow out your brows they are a fool proof way to fill in.
Tweezers: A good pair of tweezers is key just don’t over pluck!
